Jesus AND MEDITATION

Now we see Jesus life. He didn't go to church to pray, except when He went there to preach or to throw out the merchants or to scold the priests. I never read once that He prayed in a church, so what did He do? According to very reliable sources of research, we know that Jesus travelled to many countries, especially India and Tibet, and studied with many enlightened Masters from different schools. When you go to India truly seeking for a Master, you will find those with a meditative way of life, and they will teach you meditation. All of the Masters I know practice meditation, and the most famous Tibetan lamas do it too, in different ways.

So if Jesus stayed in India for at least a dozen years, then we can say that He would most likely have met some of these meditative Masters. He probably first encountered some of the less powerful Masters, who taught Him some mantras, some yogic exercises, how to do some miracles, like turning water into wine, etc. He probably learned these things in the earlier days, before meeting the so-called meditative Masters of the Himalayas. But even to do those tricks you must learn some kind of meditation technique, even though it might be only temporary.

When Jesus met these people, He must have then learned how to meditate. Otherwise how could He have shut Himself in the desert for forty days without a break? Could you just go suddenly in the desert for forty days alone! It is impossible except with training, with preparation before. For example, for those who practice our meditation technique, what we call the Quan Yin Method, meaning observing the inner sound, the 'Word' the Bible mentions that is the voice of God, we often do a seven days or a month retreat. For us it is very normal, but for ordinary people who do not practice our method, you won't be able to sit for five minutes, never mind five days. If you succeed in sitting for five minutes without moving your body and your mind, then you have already become a Master. So we know that Jesus went to the desert for forty days to meditate. We also could conclude that He has been practising meditation techniques, that He has been doing meditation all along. And that was the last retreat He did before going out to teach the message of God.

Most Masters do that before they go out into the world, before they decide whether they want to take the cross or not. It is like the last minute when you hear the alarm clock in the morning, the last moment of enjoying the warmth of the bed. Similarly, most of the Masters, after having attained enlightenment, after they know that they have been assigned the mission of being a prophet of the age, or a Messiah, they will go into retreat for some time, just to prepare themselves physically, mentally, psychically to face the hard task ahead, and to walk the long road that God assigned to them.
